ADDITION OF THREE DIGIT NUMBER WITH REGROUPING

METHOD 

STEP. 1 – Add the ‘Ones’ first

8 Ones +  7 Ones = 15 Ones

15 Ones = 1 ‘Ten’ 5 ‘Ones’

Write 5 in the ‘Ones’ column and take

1 Ten to the ‘Tens’ column

STEP. 2 – Then Add the ‘Tens’ 

         1 Tens (Carried over) + 9 Tens + 2 Tens = 12 ‘Tens’

       12 Tens = 1 Hundred 2 Tens

        Write 2 in the ‘Tens’ column and take 1 To the ‘Hundred’ column.

 STEP. 3 – Now add the ‘Hundreds’

           1 Hundred (Carried over) + 3 Hundreds + 3 Hundreds

                                              = 7 Hundreds

            Write 7 in the ‘Hundreds’ column.

             So, the answer is 725   (Ans.)

Q.2) Add 458 & 379

METHOD

STEP.1 – Add the ‘Ones’ first

8 Ones +  9 Ones = 17 Ones

17 Ones = 1  ‘Ten’ 7 ‘Ones’

Write 7 in the ‘Ones’ column and take 1 Ten to the ‘Tens’ column

STEP.2 – Then Add the ‘Tens’ 

        1 Tens (Carried over) + 5 Tens + 7 Tens = 13 ‘Tens’

        13 Tens = 1 Hundred 3 Tens

        Write 3 in the ‘Tens’ column and take 1 To the

         ‘Hundred’ column.

STEP.3 – Now add the ‘Hundreds’

            1 Hundred (Carried over)  + 4 Hundreds + 3 Hundreds

                                                        = 8 Hundreds

            Write 8 in the ‘Hundreds’ column.

             So, the answer is 837     (Ans.) 

Q.3) Add 461 & 479

METHOD

STEP. 1 – Add the ‘Ones’ first

1 Ones +  9 Ones = 10 Ones

10 Ones = 1 Ten 0 Ones

Write 0 in the ‘Ones’ column and take 1 Ten to the ‘Tens’ column

STEP. 2 – Then Add the ‘Tens’

          1 Tens (Carried over) + 6 Tens + 7 Tens = 14 ‘Tens’

          14 Tens = 1 Hundred 4 Tens

       Write 4 in the ‘Tens’ column and take 1 To the ‘Hundred’ column.

STEP. 3 – Now add the ‘Hundreds’

          1 Hundred (Carried over)  + 4 Hundreds + 4 Hundreds

                                                    = 9 Hundreds

            Write 9 in the ‘Hundreds’ column.
