DOUBLE DIGIT ADDITION

ADDITION –

Addition is a conjugation of two numbers or in a simple word Addition is to put any object, number along with and the sign of “Addition” is ‘+’. The numbers which are involved for Addition are called “ADDEND” and the answer we get that is called “SUM”.


Example of Addition-

1) 32 + 24 = ?

Step 1.-  Add the ‘Ones’                                        

            2 Ones + 4 Ones =  6 Ones

            Write 6 Ones to the ‘ Ones’ Column

Step 2. -  Add the ‘ Tens’.

             3 Tens + 2 Tens =  5 Tens.

             Write 5 Tens to the ‘ Tens’ Column

             So, the answer is 56.   (Ans.)


 

2)  47 + 32  = ?

Step 1.-  Add the ‘Ones’

            7 Ones + 2 Ones =  9 Ones

            Write 9 Ones to the ‘ Ones’ Column

 Step 2. -  Add the ‘ Tens’.

             4 Tens + 3 Tens =  7 Tens.

             Write 7 Tens to the ‘ Tens’ Column

             So, the answer is 79.    (Ans.)


 

3)  61 + 37 = ?

Step 1.-  Add the ‘Ones’

            1 Ones + 7 Ones =  8 Ones

            Write 8 Ones to the ‘ Ones’ Column

 Step 2. -  Add the ‘ Tens’.

             6 Tens + 3 Tens =  9 Tens.

             Write 9 Tens to the ‘ Tens’ Column

             So, the answer is 98.    (Ans.)
