METHOD OF FINDING FACTORS :-
1. DIVISION METHOD :-
[Here we find the factors by finding the numbers with which they are exactly divisible by using rules of divisibility.]
Example 1: Find all the factors of 30.
Ans.)
[The divisors and quotients are underlined, these are the factors.]
∴ The factors of 30 are 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 10, 15, 30.
[Arrange the factors in ascending order - small to big]
2. MULTIPLICATION METHOD :-
[Here we find the numbers which when multiplied will give 24. [Use rules of divisibility.]
Example 2: Find all the factors of 24.
Ans.)
∴ The factors of 24 are 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 24.
[Arrange the factors in ascending order - small to big]
3. PRIME FACTORIZATION METHOD :-
· In this method, we divide the number with its Smallest Prime Factor.
· Keep on dividing till we get one as a quotient.
· We must use PRIME NUMBERS ONLY.
Example: Write the prime factorization of 210.
Ans.)
So, 210 = 2 x 3 x 5 x 7 x 1
The factors of 210 is 1, 2, 3, 5, 7.
