For, Example1) – in a week there are 7 days, and temperature of Monday- 22˚c , Tuesday - 18˚c, Wednesday - 24˚c, Thursday - 20˚c, Friday - 23˚c, Saturday - 19˚c, Sunday - 25˚c.
If we wish to find out the average temperature of particular above given week, then –
(22+18+25+21+24+19+25)˚c 154 ˚c
Average =------------------------- = --------- = 22˚c / day
7days 7 days
So, 22˚c is the average temperature of this particular week.
Example2.) Suppose Mr.Arther spent his money in the subsequent 5 days are given below –
125 , 350 , 175 , 225 , 250. If we would like to find out his average expense of 5 days then
125 + 350 + 175 + 225 + 250 1125
Average =--------------------------- = ---------- = 225
5 5
