MEASUREMENT - CONVERSION OF DECIMAL UNIT OF CAPACITY

Conversion of Units of Capacity (Volume) -

To convert a lower unit into a higher unit [like decilitre (dl) to litre (l), centilitre (cl) to litre (l), etc.], we have to divide by 10 or 100 or 1000 etc. and to convert a higher unit into a lower unit [like kilolitre (kl) to litre (l), hectolitre (hl) to litre (l), etc.], we have to multiply by 10 or 100 or 1000 etc. We also know that division by 10, 100 ,1000, etc. is done by shifting the decimal point to the left of the given number and multiplication by 10, 100, 1000, etc. is done by shifting the decimal point to the right of the given number.
