ADDITION OF DECIMALS
Example.1) Add 32.56, 56.471 and 124.8
Ans.) Above all given numbers if you observe those all are unlike fractions.
32.56 = 032.560 , 56.471 = 056.471 and 124.8 = 124.800
Step.1) Convert the given decimals into like decimals.
Step.2) Write the addends one under the other in column form so. that the decimal points of all the addends are in the same column and the digits at the same place are in the same column.
Step.3) Now add them like whole number
Step.4) In the sum put the decimal point directly under the decimal Points in the addends.
So, the result of that given summation is 213.831 (Ans.)
Example.2)
Add 78.221, 128.421 and 42.85
Ans.) Above all given numbers if you observe those all are unlike fractions.
78.221 = 078.221 , 128.421 = 128.421 and 42.85 = 42.850
Step.1) Convert the given decimals into like decimals.
Step.2) Write the addends one under the other in column form so that the decimal points of all the addends are in the same column and the digits at the same place are in the same column.
Step.3) Now add them like whole number
Step.4) In
the sum put the decimal point directly under the
decimal Points in the addends.
So, the result of that given summation is 249.492 (Ans.)
