FINDING PERCENTAGE OF GIVEN QUANTITY -
Calculating or expressing a part of certain percentage of a whole. Here's how you can do it:-
Part = Percentage * Whole
Where:
Let's go through an example:
Suppose you have a class of 30 students, and 60% of them scored an A grade in a test. We want to calculate the number of students who scored an A.
Ans.)
Percentage = 60%
Part (A-grade students) = ??
Whole (Total students) = 30
60
So, Part = -------- X 30 = 6 X 3 = 18
100
So, 18 students in the class scored an A grade. (Ans.)
If you have a different scenario you'd like to calculate the percentage for, feel free to provide the numbers, and I'll guide you through the calculation!
There are more examples are given below for better understanding -

Example.1) Find value of 2 ------% of 550
2
Ans.) Step.1- First convert mix fraction to improper fraction
3 (2 X 2) + 3 (4 + 3) 7
2 ------- = ------------- = ---------- = ------
2 2 2 2
7
Step.2 - Now we will find -------% of 550
2
7 1 (7 X 1 X 275) 1925
So, ------- X -------- X 550 = --------------- = --------
2 100 100 100
1
= 19.25 or 19 ------- (Ans.)

Example.2) Find the value of 15% of $75
Ans.)
15% of $75
15
=> ------- X $75
100
15
=> ------- X $3
4
45
=> $ ------- = $ 11.25 (Ans.)

Example.3) Find the value of 25% of $220
Ans.) 25% of $220
25
-------- X $220
100
1
= ------- X $ 220 = $55 (Ans.)
