Factors & Multiples
If the given number is a multiple of the other number, while a given number is exactly divisible by another number, that number is called a factor of the given number. For example – 15, 3, & 5, whereas 3 & 5 are the factors of 15 and 15 is the multiple of 3 & 5.
Since for every whole number x , x 1 x , we can conclude the following
Every number is a factor of itself and 1 is a factor of every number.
Every number is a multiple of itself and of 1
Now consider x number x. its multiples are x 1, x 2, x 3, thus every number has countless multiples.
