RIGHT ANGLE TRIANGLE

RIGHT ANGLE TRIANGLE -

A right triangle is a type of triangle that has one of its interior angles equal to 90° (a right angle). The side opposite the right angle is called the hypotenuse, and the other two sides are referred to as the legs. Here are the key properties of a right triangle:-

  • Right angle:-  One angle is exactly 90°, while the other two angles are complementary (they sum to 90°).
  • Pythagorean Theorem:-  For a right triangle, the relationship between the sides is given by the famous Pythagorean theorem:- a²+ b² = c² where a and b are the lengths of the legs, and c is the length of the hypotenuse.
  • Height:- In a right triangle, one leg can serve as the height if it's taken as the base.
  • Types of right triangles:-

         a) Isosceles right triangle:- Both legs are of equal length, making the two acute angles each 45°.

         b) Scalene right triangle:- All three sides are of different lengths, and the two acute angles are also different.

Right triangles are fundamental in trigonometry and have many applications in geometry, physics, and engineering.
