Rules of Prime Factorization
If the number is even then take out the factor 2
If the sum of digit in the number obtained after step 1 is a multiple of 3, so we will take the factor 3. We have to continue this step as long as the number is a multiple of three.
If the last digit in the number obtained after step 2 is 5, take out the factor 5.
Try by division to take out prime factors like 7, 11, 13 and 17
Example –
1) 360 = 2 X 180
= 2 X 2 X 90
= 2 X 2 X 2 X 45
= 2 X 2 X 2 X 3 X 15
= 2 X 2 X 2 X 3 X 3 X 5
= 2ᶟ X 3² X 5¹
