CLASS-9
SIMULTANEOUS LINEAR EQUATION

SIMULTANEOUS LINEAR EQUATION

The simultaneous linear equation is a very important part of learning, obtained from the syllabus of 9th-grade math, where this learning will help us to understand further higher grades of mathematics in a logical way. A simultaneous linear equation can be solved by the process or method which is mentioned below -

A) Simultaneous linear equations in two variables. (with numerical coefficients only) –

- Elimination

- Substitution and

-  Cross multiplication method.

B) Solving simple problems by framing appropriate equations.

Linear equations in two Variable –

An equation of the form ax + by + c = 0, where a, b, c are real numbers (a≠ 0, b≠ 0), is called a linear equation in two variables x & y.

Examples : - each of the equations

a) 2x + 5y – 15 = 0,  b)  5x – 9y + 10 = 0,  c)  12x + 8y = 10,

d) 0.8x + 0.5y =2.5,  e) √8 x + √10y = √7, f) 0.11x – 0.18y + 0.02 = 0

is a linear equation in x & y.
