Subtraction is that kind of incidence where things or number are taken away from the group of things or number, examples are given below to understand well-

From the above picture there are 10 no.s Pencils, from there 4 no.s Pencils are taken away, say 10 – 4 = 6, so the remaining number of Pencils are 6 no.s.

From the above picture, there are 9 no.s Eraser, from there 5 no.s Eraser are taken away, say 9 – 5 = 4, so the remaining number of Erasers are 4 no.s.

From the above picture, there are 16 no.s Football, from there 5 no.s Footballs are taken away, say 16 – 5 = 11, so the remaining number of Footballs are 11 no.s.

From the above picture there are 12 no.s Balls, from there 5 no.s Balls are taken away, say 12 – 5 = 7, so the remaining number of Balls are 7 no.s.
